Craig Cooper

Light Table (2007) is an encapsulation of Cooper’s interest in
the encounter between seemingly random objects. The fluorescent light fits
perfectly in the space between the tables upturned legs and unsettles the
viewer’s idea of form and function. The two objects were found in Cooper’s
studio space at Central St Martins while studying for his Fine Art MA. The
sculpture is made with an economy and elegance with the endeavorment to
disrupt our relationship to these everyday objects, challenging us to see
the extraordinary in the ordinary.
