Samantha Mogelonsky

Mogelonsky is a Canadian graduate of the Master’s of Fine Art program
at Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design (2007) and previously
completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art and Art History from Queen’s University
in Kingston, Ontario, Canada (2006).
Working primarily with installations—but also making use of sculptures,
digital imagery, and text-based works that abstract and re-configure the
human subject—her work is often materially and process driven, thereby making
evident the detailed, habitual patterns of manual work. Mogelonsky’s use
of language, the body, nostalgia, objects, and the uncanny or unknown addresses
the physicality of language by creating a dialogue between habitual practice,
context and the ambiguity of story telling.
