Leah Thorn

Leah is a spoken word poet, performing in literary venues, museums,
galleries and prisons. At the heart of her work is the autobiographical
exploration of culture and identity. Leah is currently writer-in-residence
at HMP Bronzefield, a women’s prison.
Her latest project is My Amulet, a short film combining poetry, kaleidoscopically-edited
handheld Super 8, digital video footage and a commissioned soundscape by
Moshik Kop and Yaniv Fridel. Beehives and high heels, fur stoles and Ford
Zephyrs, 60’s Anglo-Jewish suburbia cut with Leah’s spin on assimilation,
acculturation and ‘other such aggravation’.
My Amulet is Leah’s first film and is currently being shown in Film Festivals
internationally.
