StreetFest is back with its second instalment of 2009, bringing a new breed of festival that merges creative talents.
StreetFest takes it back to the ‘old skool’, by blending the spirit and soul of those nostalgic rocking block parties, with creative flair and modern trends.
The latest StreetFest will be held in the urban surroundings of Hearn Street Car Park, 7-11 Hearn St, off Curtain Rd, London, EC2A 3LS. Starting at 2pm through to 1am, this event gives the streetfest family eleven hours of innovative showcases. We will be featuring some of the UK’s top collectives including; music, live art, films, hair and fashion shows plus, in-line skate and skateboard demonstrations. As always this is not an event to be missed.
Key participants in StreetFest include Lovenskate (www.lovenskate.com) spreading the word of skateboard culture and Kingdom (www.kingdom-mag.co.uk) offering a British perspective on rollerblading eccentricity. These collectives will be running demonstrations on a 32ft half-pipe throughout the day.
The art focus comes from a Monorex collective (www.secretwars.co.uk) delivering timed live art battles, the innovative VST Crew and a collection of some 30 illustrators, architects, fine and street artists painting live throughout the day.
Holic and RHIL are the powerhouse promoters behind the music programming during the day with live acts stirring up the crowds.
This event sees the emerging fashion house of Second Son (www.second-son.com) present their latest range in a rather unorthodox manner.
Film content comes in the form of three innovative collectives – SeeNoEvil (www.seenoevil.tv), Stomper (www.stomper.org.uk) and new to Streetfest is; Voodlenation (www.voodlenation.com) who are showcasing a collection of themed footage uniquely shot using any medium available. Additional skate and biking films will also be shown on the day. Stalls promoting international food, emerging clothing brands, books, prints, art toys and collectables will also be participating on the day.
Hearn Street is a serious location that ensures people on the day will get to take part in a real and stimulating event.
